Record for later or enjoy the moment without recording it? — April 28, 2020

Record for later or enjoy the moment without recording it?

Personally, I love doing both of these things. I love to look back at videos and see fun memories that I had, but I also like just enjoying the moment and not having to worry about anything.

I feel as if when it is recorded, you feel like you have to meet a standard just in case other people see it, but it is fun to be able to look back at it. If you aren’t recording, it can be more fun because then it’s just you and your friends or family having fun in the moment.

A Big Change — April 7, 2020

A Big Change

Lately, with everything going on with COVID-19, there has been some pretty big changes and adjustments. I personally have been able to adjust to online school fairly easily. Staying quarantined is not difficult either, so I am not having a hard time with that. One of the things that I believe is slightly odd to see still is all of the businesses that are closed down and how you have to go through drive-thru at every fast food restaurant. I feel like once quarantine and COVID-19 gets to its’ end and the businesses open back up, they will be flooding with customers.

Smartphones — Blessing or a Curse? — April 3, 2020

Smartphones — Blessing or a Curse?

This topic could most definitely go both ways. I believe smartphones can be both a blessing and a curse. They can seem as if they make life much easier, which in many cases they do. They can also be a bit of a distraction and sometimes be a little too much, too.

Something that everyone loves about a smartphone is all of the great things it has and can do. It is pretty cool how it has things on it like an alarm clock, timer, calculator, maps, and all that fun stuff. It has also been cool to see how much smartphones have evolved and how much they can do now. They are quite handy to have and make things much easier.

On the other side of that, it seems as if everyone only pays attention to their phones and not to each other, which is the downside of it. It seems like texting is the main way of communication at this time and it’t not the best form of communication. These younger generations coming in seem a tad bit awkward in social situations because they are so used to just communicating over text and snapchat, etc. All in all, I believe that this topic could very easily be argued both ways, and I believe both sides are true.

Is Fate Real? — March 3, 2020

Is Fate Real?

Many people tend to have a strong opinion on this question, but I do believe that it is real. I believe that everything happens for a reason, and if you meet someone, they are meant to be in your life. Although, I do believe some things can come by surprise, but in the end, everything turns out how it is supposed to be.

breakfast, lunch, supper – best meal of the day? — February 23, 2020

breakfast, lunch, supper – best meal of the day?

All meals are important, but I believe that one of them trumps all three of them, and there are facts to help prove it. I believe that breakfast is by far the MOST important meal of the day. It is one of the very first things you do when you wake up, if you eat breakfast that is. There are many benefits behind eating breakfast and as to why it is very important. Breakfast starts your day and can give you a boost of energy and help wake you up. It is not good for you to go about your day with an empty stomach either, just another reason why it is important. Eating breakfast also can help promote your weight maintenance by maintaining your metabolism and boosting it, along with many other benefits.

Day-Life or Night-Life? — February 18, 2020

Day-Life or Night-Life?

What time of the day would you prefer? Personally, I would choose night-life. I normally have a hard time sleeping, so I am up late quite often. I also find it that I am the most productive during the later hours of the day/night. I always end up getting a random burst of energy and get most of my household chores done during that time.

Writers Block – The struggle. — February 4, 2020

Writers Block – The struggle.

I, personally have always had a bit of an issue when it comes to having writer’s block. I always get to one point, and then have no idea what else to say. I have learned though, through time, it does help me tons if I simply just step away for a couple of minutes and get something to eat or drink. Another thing that you always have the opportunity to do would be to have someone close to you read over it and give you pointer’s if possible. Everyone has their own ways of defeating writer’s block, and those are just two of my favorites.

Getting to Know Me

Hi, I’m Brooklyn Rasmussen and I am originally from Claremont, South Dakota. Claremont is a very small town of less than 100 people, so there isn’t much to do. I attended High School in Langford, South Dakota and graduated with about 13 classmates. I enjoy playing volleyball, cheerleading, shopping, watching Netflix or Hulu, and hanging out with my friends.
